Battle of the Sides

Battle of the Sides

A Poem by Fire Tulip
"

"There must be darkness to have light." -Unknown

"

The black angry sea clashes against the worn down sand

Here I lay looking at the baby blue and charcoal skies, battling against each other

Letting the sharp winds whip my hair

My fake eyelashes fall off and disappear in the breeze

My heavy foundation slips off my face, grain by grain joining the weathered sand

The dark eyeliner flees my eyes and joins the dark sky

All the heartbroken tears escape my eyes and float up to the storm clouds to produce rain

This is my dark side

What’s left is my true light side

My two sides beat each other down

Not stopping till there is a victor

But I can’t decide

So the battle rages on forever

Author's Note

Fire Tulip
What inspired me to write this was when I was sitting on the beach watching the sky grow dark while another part of the sky remained beatiful blue. When the winds started to get bad and it started to rain, I practically ran all the way to my hotel room to write this. This actualy does in a way describe me. I'm just always unsure of who I am and this poem helpe me discover who the real Lyric is.<3

I get lot's of inspiration by sitting on the beach. You described it exactly like a battle. That's what a good writers about. And you're one of them. Keep writing! 100/100
