IN A WINDED WAKE

A poem that the wind whispered to me as I walked...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In a

winded
wake

did I

thus
walk
listening

to its

autumn

whispers.
And how

I saw
the breeze
carry leaves
chips of this
scraps of that
fragments
of feelings
lifted on
invisible wings.
Then

I knew
and oh

how I

whispered
your name
on the winds
letting it
carry

my words

over worlds.
In the chill

of morning
or the

season’s

scent

of evening
listen
oh listen
and you’ll hear
my voice
calling.
Feel my
warm breath
brushing over

your cheek
as the wind
carries me

over valleys

mountains

deserts

oceans

to you.

This poem is filled with lovely, ethereal allusions, with balmy descriptions of nature. I've often written about the winds as a messenger of voices, like this conscious energy that carries the voices of spirits, or in this case, messages of love. Very beautifully done, I loved it.
