2977

waking in precious peace

smiling… sighing

speaking of life

2977

boarded planes

viewed the world from windows

thought of dreams and endless sunsets

2977

worked the mundane

wondered of love to come

grinned in a first plane trip

2977

Flight 11 North Tower New York…8:46 am

Flight 175 South Tower  New York…9:03 am

Flight 77 Pentagon Washington DC …9:37 am

2977

South Tower collapsed…9:59 am

Flight 93 Shanksville, Pennsylvania…10:03 am

North Tower collapsed…10:28 am

2977

September day rips past and present

so many unidentifiable lives

mourning doves sing

2977

they live now in the remembering

10 years of recollections

a fullness of life

2977

A fine, poetic tribute, chronicling the events of that fateful day, when so many innocent people were randomly chosen for death. We should always remember, and always be vigilant...the threat is not over. Well penned.

I still remember that day in fourth grade. Somebody ran into our classroom and told us to turn on the TV to such and such a channel, and for once, nobody spoke, we just watched... as the towers collapsed. This piece is so visual, a solemn reminder of what happened here ten years ago now. Gosh, I can't even believe it's been ten years! Thank you so much for this tribute, Craig. Such an impact this makes...

Even India was hurt on this day really badly... Terrorism on the rise could hurt anyone... A lovely tribute to that... Thank you so much...

Such a horrible day. I remember the exact where and when of I. But those 2977 will never have another where and when. So sad, we must not forget. So many take advantage of our everyday freedoms. Let us not forget. Thank you for the gentle, but blunt reminder. :)

A single death at Calvary defines the best and worst of mankind for me. There are those who went to heaven that day and it just might be that some of us left here behind should be envious of the glory they now behold instead of sorrowful for the sadness left in the wake of their departure. But God is sovereign and not a sparrow can fall without His notice. It is easy to forget great truth in times of grief. I know. I lost my mother less than three weeks ago. But without the hope that I find in my God, without the faith that sustains that hope, without the love that fills my soul through the Spirit...I would have no desire to go on living in this awful world. I am grateful to those brave men and women who place themselves in harm's way each day that our lives and our freedoms are protected...to the firefighters...police...rescue workers...and every soldier in our military defending our country and its liberty. If" In God We Trust" then God will bless and protect us. So I also pray for a country which will put its faith where its words are. And may God bless America.

It is true we must remember. We also move on never let this horror dominate or control our lives. If we do then it and they have won. I refuse to go down with out a fight.
