NO LONGER ALONE

NO LONGER ALONE

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

A place of darkness once embraced me...

"

In the hollow of my haven

where the moonlight flees the shadow,

a place of darkness once embraced me

and my dreams were of no comfort.

In a crowd I stood alone,

shifting silently for shelter,

and in hunger for affection

clung to glances of false pity.

Cryptic cries and aberrations,

swifted past my vision’s window.

Then my hungry hand reached out

and I grasped for life incarnate.

Quiet beauty now surrounds me

with the color of life’s hope.

And the hovering hordes are fled

down cruel Hades deepest slopes.

With the unexpectedness

of dancing summering snow,

I glance beside my path to see

my shadow now no longer lone.

You have such an elegant hand in writing. I can truly relate to this piece. You speak of clinging to false pity and no reward of comfort in sleep, I have been there before. I felt as if released from the melancholy grip of now as your poem transcended into pleasant awakening from the chill of isolation. Loved the word play on dancing summering snow, beautifully expressed. It comforts me to know that your gem like glow is no longer tarnished by the frigid sea of depression. And though your words have a pensive taste as you express your journey through the shallows, I sense an empowering peace of mind here as you realize you came out on the other side. Your a phenomenal person, artistic, humble and sincere. Your poetry whispers to me of serenity on the horizon. If I can reach it.

A story so well rendered...familiar I am with this, for I as well have felt this shadow
of lost hope...
Only to awaken and smell the rose

Thank you for sharing this exquisite portrayal of your soul

I love "the color of life's hope." A rainbow came to my mind. I am alone, most of the time, these days. Which does not mean that I am alone, because as soon as I walk out my door my neighbors converge on my patio. I have been blessed with friends, but the hardest friend to please is myself. I struggle with befriending myself and liking myself; I wish I could see what draws so many people to me. A lovely poem; it meant alot to me!

I love this. At first there is darkness at the beginning and then it fades into the light of the day with the underlying breathe of hope. Fantastic poem
