just one feather

just one feather

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

for those who long for more than what we see…

"

Scanning the sky for angel wings

and other wispy sacred things

to see beyond what life can bring

or cry and for my days I cling…

More than dust or caustic wind

more than fragile bones to mend

such dreams my heart longs to transcend

from frosted feelings I ascend…

In nineteen worlds beyond compare

I sense ten thousand hallowed stairs

to take me far beyond despair

astride a weeping silver mare…

One tranquil day I wish to see

beyond fragmented tapestries

in a world beyond the golden tree

just one feather…

Yes, there truly is so much more, and you have captured this thought with style and majesty....another lovely and memorable write Craig!

I especially appreciate the following lines...my, such beauty of words in your words:

In nineteen worlds beyond compare
I sense ten thousand hallowed stairs
to take me far beyond despair
astride a weeping silver mare…

You never fail my expectations of expert writing!

Perfect.

Your rhyme patterns and rhythm exceed what I've seen at the cafe. This piece just beathes literary perfection. Not only, then, is it brilliantly written, it also sees straight through to our souls, as if we are all transpatent, reading our innermost feelings. You've managed all of this, plus that indefectable insight in a mere few stanzas.
