On drum beat time

On drum beat time

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Played to the beat of distant drums...

"

Dancing death has shown its face

Resting in a dreamless place

Under skies of golden hue

Meandering meadows of crystal dew…

My coriander eyes have seen

A vision vast in fields of green

Janus opens wide the door

On teeming life in yonder moor…

Rid the world of sorrow's face

Playing odes to a rhythm pace

On drum beat time of greening grace

Dancing death has left this place…

...but don't disregard death just yet... i've been told it's more than it appears...

"My coriander eyes have seen..." is the best, most fresh, original expression I've read in a long time... i don't know why it has affected me so much, but it is stunning.

"...Playing odes to a rhythm pace
On drum beat time of greening grace
Dancing death has left this place…" is amazing also...

you've excelled, Craig.

Just as homer remembered the illyad in musical verse so do we remember easier with musical time.It is the way we use our brain it remembers music and tells us this adventure is more than exceptional it is stupendous

I really am confused about this concept and I am glad you put this one up. It was interesting, different and got me thinking once again. Great job Craig.

Here, here! After kissing Death, life is trebly sweet. Your images are a joy to read, you paint such glorious pictures with your words.

The picture leaves one wondering what has happened here and any thoughts that I come up with are not good...I enjoyed your work..Coriander eyes leaves me wondering does this imply the color of the eyes or the size of the eyes? Cilantro is the Herb that produces the Coriander seed...Cilantro has a licorice like flavor and the coriander has a lemony taste...Sara

It's no forced rhyme which gives strong impact on the tone. It sounds so poetic, sounds so classic. The rhythm is just so beautiful. One of your great works! Keep writing.

First of all the picture reminds me of the last mission in Assassin's Creed 2 lol
Anyways, I have also almost tasted death once. We don't know how precious life is until it flashes before our eyes. I thought this was a very well written poem.
