Craig....absolutely an awesome tribute to the creative, prolific nature of a poet, of which I am so very humbled to be considered! Leonard Cohen is a wonderful poet, song writer, performer, and on and on....I have many favorites but, "I Am Your Man" has become a special write for me! There are just so many others! Carl Sandburg's quote is that which I can readily relate to. Omar Kayyam, Shelley, Blake, oh my so many to mention!!
It is wonderful to be a member of a community such as Writer's Cafe where I am able to become friends with so many others with like interests, and talents!!
This is a divine exultation! You put this in such descriptive, vivid words of eloquence that define all we are and what we give. A Masterpiece, for sure!
very, very nice!!! the inspiration of a poet, or indeed the blood! great quotes and poets used to great effect in this piece, the words are endearing and relatable to us all, a fine ode indeed!
For no joy is so profound and no pain so deep that you cannot describe…
Ah! Yes, that is the beauty of loving this craft of writing, we can put every human condition into words and 'hopefully' make some sense of it. If we touch only one person in our efforts then we have done well and it is all worthwhile.
A stunning piece of writing Craig...
My favorite...Paul Simon.
The combination of the poem and authors notes makes me feel really good. So many say that poetry is dead and really....how can that be? When there is emotion to be shared, experiences to be passed around like a botle of cheap whiskey, an hearts in need of mending and breaking again...there will always be a place for poetry. Great job.
You forgot Homer, yeah thats right Simpson, this is so good, words fail me, such a flow of words to express appreciation for those memorable words of the poets, I forgot what they were now, but you know what I mean. excellent poetry Craig
Every line I read in this poem, and my mind was like whoa. I started seeing Wordsworth in my head, who just writes Daffodils with so much beauty; I see many ballads, in which I see so much pain and agony; I see many sonnets, in which emotions are so strongly conveyed. I do know that this poem is an ode to everyone who writes poetry. Great Great job Craig. I don't give any poem on here a 100, but this one deserves a minimum of a 99
2024 is here... May we make it so much more heaven than hell... Wishing all peace on earth... Together, maybe we go the distance...
