On Carousel's Sweet Ride

On Carousel's Sweet Ride

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

On a wish and a prayer...

"

Swirling enchanted alabaster skies

In trembling voice a June berry sighs

In the fragrance of a black velvet rose

With wonders how the seasons grow

Hovering on the carousel’s sweet ride

My horse bounding meadows in stride

Painted gold yarrow’s drifting dance

Now summer’s gone in happenstance

Nights of the soft sensual lilac mist

In dreamish warm colors gently kissed

I’m lifted now on those golden wings

Soaring on childhood’s whispered swing

Starlight, star bright, every star align tonight

When they ignite, bring every dream in sight...

Delicate, dreamy, yet with a strength of imagery that draws the reader back in time to childhood.

The romantic quality that you have woven into this tapestry of fine lines with gold threads filled a void in my spirit this afternoon..I am so blessed to have chosen this one to read for now my spirit soars to heights that only the Eagle can reach ....I was truly blessed to have you visit my work and comment...Sunflower

Such a whimsical ride - I love the tight rhyme scheme you used and all the lovely words and images.

A amazing poem. Words were beautiful and the story was very good. I could feel the movement of the carousel when reading your words. A outstanding poem. Than you.
