Of all the ways and grace of Earth

Of all the ways and grace of Earth

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

World comes to life in misted sleep..

"

Of all the ways and grace of Earth,

We give thanks for autumn’s birth

In ripling harvests of rippling soil

We give thanks for strength to toil

Now dream of enchanted Saturn skies

And this season’s living lullabies

In emerald’s lush turned scarlet ripe

In dancing colors’ succulent stripes

Fragrance of pumpkin spices swift

Round apple cider’s luscious drift

Dancing, drifting, in lifting smiles

Families united from across the miles

World comes to life in misted sleep

As harvest moons light all we reap

The earth’s flutters in darkest shades

Meadows now slumber in gilded glades...

It does give a sense of summer ebbing away and winter being ushered in. I find fall such a sad season. It's so beautiful but what it brings is so cold and dark, but setting that aside, autumn in itself is as wonderful as you so deftly describe. Very pleasant piece.

I can picture fall, exactly as I would see it outside. The beautiful sky colors, the leaves changing, the pumpkin patches, and the holidays around the corner.

I think that the beginning of fall is an even more magical time of year than Christmas and what a beautiful expression of this breathtaking season.

My favorite part...

Now dream of enchanted Saturn skies
And this season’s living lullabies
In emerald’s lush turned scarlet ripe
In dancing colors’ succulent stripes

This is truly amazing. I love autumn and everything that has to do with it. You have captured the very essence of fall and I am grateful. A few more weeks and autumn shall be upon my region and I can write as many poems this year that my heart so desires. Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece it was a pleasure to read.

Oh...I love this time of year...it brings out the best in my writer friends. this is extraordinary, although today where I live...was 110 degree still...arrrrghhhhh. Ready for it to cool down. And, ready for Pumpkin Porter at a local brewery....we take off early form work on pumpkin porter roll out day. Sorry to unleash my life upon you, but thats what great writing does...helps us relate.

Very Gerard Manley Hopkins, I thought of Pied Beauty for some reason. The usual lush imagery and brilliant use of alliteration.
