Of all the ways and grace of Earth

Of all the ways and grace of Earth

A Poem by An owl on the moon

World comes to life in misted sleep..

Of all the ways and grace of Earth,

We give thanks for autumn’s birth

In ripling harvests of rippling soil

We give thanks for strength to toil

Now dream of enchanted Saturn skies

And this season’s living lullabies

In emerald’s lush turned scarlet ripe

In dancing colors’ succulent stripes

Fragrance of pumpkin spices swift

Round apple cider’s luscious drift

Dancing, drifting, in lifting smiles

Families united from across the miles

World comes to life in misted sleep

As harvest moons light all we reap

The earth’s flutters in darkest shades

Meadows now slumber in gilded glades...

It does give a sense of summer ebbing away and winter being ushered in. I find fall such a sad season. It's so beautiful but what it brings is so cold and dark, but setting that aside, autumn in itself is as wonderful as you so deftly describe. Very pleasant piece.

This is an absolute delight. So is the photo! This is lush, verdant, filed with the sense of change (seasons) and marvelous music! Did you know that the aroma of "pumpkin spice" is the most potent and successful aphrodisiac for a male.

Makes me wish I lived in a place where there was an autumn.
Beautiful write, flowing words that beg to be read aloud.

A poem most perfect in meaning and picture; But flawed by meter. For instance, The last two couplets of the first quatrain. If you're willing, I'd to glad to metrify this beautiful piece, add to its glamour. :) Anyways, keep writing.

What a luscious, seductive piece of brilliant imagery in this delectable piece that breathes Autumnal scents and fumes! Yes, you invoke the sensuous rhetoric and feel-good alliteration of G.M. Hopkins and his 'Pied Beauty' so much into this piece, perhaps unknowingly; but there's the same freshness and enchanting rhythm, the sheer melody and sensory stimulation that glitters through this delightful verse.
"Now dream of enchanted Saturn skies
And this season’s living lullabies

In dancing colors’ succulent stripes"

You make the transient world of autumnal glory transcendental and immortal through these gorgeous lines of yours! Truly.

What a nice composition Craig! I simply love the way you’ve taught us the manner in which our very sweet nature comes to us in a different way. Your words fill an intriguing desire in me to explore the ever familiar nature around me in an ever green way. I do…I do follow your inescapable instinct to search for this lovely presence of hope and shine. It is our Mother Nature that wombs the deep feeling for us. We only need to look for it and tame it. Nicely you’ve shown Craig how to grab it for sure.

Thanks.

I have come to think of your poems as life in the 4th dimension. Everything is so tangible you could almost feel it in your hands. My favorite poem about my FAVORITE season! I hope that when I'm older I can be as good a writer/poet as you!
