THE EDGE OF HAPPY

THE EDGE OF HAPPY

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

I think I can see it from here... :)

"

On a marble ledge gazing down

Gray cold edge; indigo loneliness

A glass of All-Irish Black and Tan

Taking sips rich and dark as night

I hear a soft golden voice within

Feel the kiss of a scented breeze

Turn to see your smile light the room

I feel colored in carnival electric

Do you see me standing here?

Not breathing as I steal glimpses

Heart coming alive in your tone

Your laugh, what a brilliant caffeine

On the sunrise edge of happy now

At least I can finally see it from here

It’s resting across the room in your eyes

Please just look my way forever...

Please…

ahhh the allure of a dark room
seductive music
a dressed up and beautiful woman
i remember the days in night clubs
dressing up my meat suit to its prettiest forms
looking for love....
this was a romantic twist to it :)

I read it more than once....it's absolutely enchanting, mesmerising my senses as I stood there with you, longing for that look of intimacy, of recognition, of reciprocality.
I love the colorful 'environment' of your poem, Craig...so very visual !!!

Love this piece.. you turned a stark setting into an emotional piece. Love the blunt longing.. great write. Great phrasing as usual. c:

It's brilliant how you transformed an entire scene in your words so easily. The poem's very fluent, it's like every line came out on its own effortlessly. Well done.
