Leave your summering senses

Leave your summering senses

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Watch the world open your eyes to endless wonder...

"

Leave your summering senses,

wander the shimmering heights.

Here in the sheltered silence,

take unnatural, winged flight.

Birth comes to all by nature,

but walking must be learned.

So holding on to the future,

climb a sacred staircase spurned.

The waning day in a golden hue

has passed us by, and spoken little.

My eyes did not see a dozen blessings,

the holy hush in life’s frailing brittle.

When will the dust be sanctified?

And when will death be defeated?

The summer is silenced and I am

only a hollow echo, calm retreated.

A wind’s muted strain is movement,

it truly has no blue ambient voice.

In chords of soft shifting silence,

its rhythm is a  breathless choice.

Mundane gives birth to the mysterious;

it plays across earth’s landscaped dune.

How we rest beside the sea in  wonder,

waiting for the stars to lace the moon…

So angelic this poem is...soft, yet strong. There are some
great lines in this: Birth comes to all by nature,
but walking must be learned.
So holding on to the future,
climb a sacred staircase spurned.
My eyes did not see a dozen blessings,
the holy hush in life’s frailing brittle.
only a hollow echo, calm retreated
Mundane gives birth to the mysterious;
it plays across earth’s landscaped dune.
How we rest beside the sea in wonder,
waiting for the stars to lace the moon
LOve those lines. Your words always
seem to put a calm, mellow feeling over me:)

Love the way the words flow here and the way "Summer is silenced". This poem gives me images and thoughts to ponder. I must admit that the capital letters are distracting and makes it difficult for me to read. The words themselves are amazing.

The waning day in a golden hue
has passed us by, and spoken little.
My eyes did not see a dozen blessings,
the holy hush in life’s frailing brittle.

This stanza so touched me...how easy to forget to look up in wonder, to walk the path of contemplation, to open our eyes to Creation, to sing praises to God who upholds our world by his merciful hand.

Thank you for giving me wings to soar to glorious heights !!

. ah! ... absolutely beautiful and overwhelming ... the picture is bewitching ... your words have an epic feel ... when i read something as powerful as this ... and as definitive ... i feel less impatient ... life can be so exacting sometimes ... and we make it worse with deadlines ... this is a timeless piece ... and it inspires ...

I can see I am not the only one producing philosophical ideas through verse... we are given only so much by the grace of God, it is what we do with those gifts that puts our life in perspective.
