a new SUNRISE

a new SUNRISE

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

A new day is here…

"

At the coming of a new sunrise

I will open up my azure eyes

And breathe in frosted air

That moves about so fresh and fair...

New light will flood my fragile mind

And boundless treasures I will find

Content with this no more

To be sealed inside my iron door...

Life is full of secret streams

That flow and feed our hungry dreams

To love will be my end

And living fierce for all my friends...

Those things the world has thrown at me

Will shatter weakly at my feet

And in the golden dawn

I’ll seize all hope and carry on...

A revisit for me....but thought I would leave a note to say--- you write with the heart of a romantic and with the true soul of a good man. Wonderful.

I believe in the sentiment of this poem, although I'm not sure there is enough sunrise to go around...Where I live, outside of summer there is little evidence of a sunrise at all: just a slow fading of the black to grey. But when the rising is visible, oh, how the effects make one realise the potential of being alive, and yes, there is a reawakening of the soul. And though the sun may not always greet us each morning, the knowledge that it will again some day is an important thing to hold on to, to bring you new hope. The world gives us that and we should be grateful for the small things that we take for granted; and that are more significant than we give credit to.
A lovely piece of writing, beautiful rhyme, and expressed with a joy for life that is difficult to resist.

This is the most inspirational poem I've read here at the Cafe. Wonderful usage of words, and rhyme.

You paint a golden picture with your words. The imagery is very uplifting, though there's a sense of calmness running throughout the poem.

"Life is full of secret streams

To love will be my end
And living fierce for all my friends..."
Superb lines.

"Those things the world has thrown at me
Will shatter weakly at my feet
And in the golden dawn
I’ll seize all hope and carry on..."
Awesome. Sometimes, we get obsessed with what life throws at us, and get sad and miserable analyzing why things are what they are. Your poem is a message for everyone to get up and get going. There's a lot of positive energy and vibe running through this.

I loved reading the poem!

My, oh my, I wish I felt this way every morning. You have officially given me inspiration to wake up a good few hourse earlier and watch the sun rise. Time to take advantage of the view! You are one of the few people I have come upon who can write incredibly creative poetry that also makes sense. Bravo!

This is a lovely write. Beautiful in its simplicity. It flows with ease, like a swan gliding effortlessly over a river....lovely and romantic.
