LIKE ETERNAL SUMMER

LIKE ETERNAL SUMMER

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Wanting... waiting to see you...

"

Sailing

through the sky

on a flight,

long and restless.

Wanting…

waiting to see you.

Step… step… step

moving down

that long thin corridor.

Glance out

into the wall

of humanity.

Hearing laughter,

endless conversations,

clatter and noice.

Looking out across

the faces

until

I see

your eyes.

What enchantment!

Your lips curl up;

sweet smile,

like eternal summer.

I run to you,

pull you up

in my arms.

Your legs

wrap around me

and I breathe in

the scent of apples

and peppermint.

A soft, long,

lingering kiss.

A moment;

Oh a moment

I never wanted to end.

And in that crowded,

noisy airport,

there was only

you and me…

Oh I love this one. It is like an experience I had with a dear friend of mine who came to visit me for a week. Great images in this one. It really reminds me of the raw joy and this poem depicts the happiness I remember of an event like this not so long ago. Beautiful piece, just like every other work you do. Good job!

Aww, I love this! Excellent imagery. I love the way you described everything, including her scent. You can really feel the happiness and enchantment that surrounds them as they meet. Lovely work.

This is so romantic. Searching your soul mate in the sea of faces and then that defining moment. Marvelous and truly passionate. The descriptions are really enchanting.

Hmmm "the scent of apples & peppermint", I wonder what perfume she was using? Sounds delicious to say the least! lol Another superb Valentine's poem from an accomplished and polished poet. Bravo! ~ Helena

I can very much relate to this. Only it was my son...seeing him for the first time since he had gone off to the military. He walked out from behind the security check in in his working blues. OH WHAT A SIGHT. A woman came up to me while we were waiting for his luggage and said "that was the most touching moment I've ever seen in an airport". I remember nothing mattered...time stopped....as my baby turned into a man.

Anyway, this was touching...

This is I want.... and I will have, soon! in 4 months.. ha! you convey nicely the tensions and the desire... so self-conscious your love is here...in a way, there is a semi-sentimentality, when one is matching one s mind against another mind with desire.

You capture a moment of time that I think many can relate. That long distance finally coming to a close. Wonderful.
