This is what I love about imagination, you take something as simple and ordinary as cement and create it into life, with a purpose, which of course it does have, but we never think about it.......wonderful read.
I love the concept that the landscapes we move through remember our passing, and record it within. Sometimes, when I am on a trail in the mountains, I grab for a handhold, and find a perfectly located tree root worn smooth from thousands of people grabbing the same spot to hoist themselves up a cliff. I get a sense of that here, as the concrete wears under teh countless footsteps of those who walk across it, taking in their life energy and being changed by it. Wonderfully evocative!
Now this is something different for me to read, and as I expected it is marvelous. I mean a mixture of sand and water holds so many of lifes events. A concrete sidewalk.. this is brilliant..
A very different concept, I like the way it flows. Your descriptions take the reader through the journeys of life; both past and present. How different life is for each one of us. I really like this.
"There are only four questions of value in life...
What is sacred?
Of what is the spirit made?
What is worth living for..
and what is worth dying for?
The answer to each is the same:
ONLY .. more..
