Behind her eyes...

Behind her eyes...

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Inspired by a writer here at the caf

"

C anadian sunrise breathes behind her moonless eyes

H iding still in soft blankets of a silence so strange

A fter night has moved on in the cold of death’s embrace

R ising echoes of a broken promise painfully forgotten

L ost but not forever, her little heart aches behind a veil

E very moment these thoughts wrestle with her mind

N ight sleeps on the pillow of the shifting earth as

E ndless visions of a gentle winter rise just ahead...

You have a way of moving something that is sad to something beautiful. I love the imagery that you invoke with your words. Beautiful writing ... and I love how it flows so lovely. So often, acrostics don't have much rhyme or reason, but this one is awesome.

Craig!!! Such a tender, lovely new write. Yay! It's a pleasure to see refreshing new words from you. :) Such a kind soul projecting the most intimately soft of thoughts, and I felt as though snowflakes were falling, landing on my tongue. And what a sweet inspiration. I love it when words are inspired by another writer. Stunning, truly. Thank you for blessing us with your words yet again.

Oh, you just cannot know how honored I am by this poem! It's really beautiful... and I love the concept of using titles of my work in your lines... Of course, with you behind the pen(or keyboard?), it would have been impossible for it to be bad.
Thank you so much for this honor!

I found this soft and tender, as well as of a touch of emotion, very well written
