From calming gentle lapping to throwing its fury at us, like it's Samuel L Jackson having a hissy fit, the oceans give us so much as an aid to memory and contemplation, and that's before even mentioning all the tasty swimmy things for sustenance too!
I almost heard waves gently lapping as I read your words, but then the wind picked up and next thing, symbols crashing and it all went a bit classical furyesque and I had to go lie down! 😃

So greatly appreciated your vision as you read my words... yes, the ocean has so much personality!

There's such an ache I felt reading this...an ocean is one place where everything feels right again, everything seems aligned & in order. Yet, there's so much chaos beneath the surface which a rare amount of us can begin to comprehend. It shows us what it wants us to see, just like an iceberg...so much hidden underneath, down into its dark abyss.

Hummm...I have often said "I am the ocean". No idea where that came from but it reminds me, this. On the edge of the earth, that line between sand and water? The never coming back...They are loved, dearly.

The ocean weeps for those gone before . .

I can see this in my mind.
Your thoughts are deep, tender and emotional.

(I enjoy placing my words on the pic sometimes as well)
My best to you, owl on the moon.

"Some say the ocean roars
I hear it ever weeping..."

The enormity of those two lines give this poem such a mythical voice. You are so blessed as a writer, Craig. How fortunate we are to have you!

Reading this and I went through it once and then had to go back and kind of take it all in a second time going a little bit slower so I could really appreciate it. I feel like it's describing a specific moment (or in reference to a specific moment), and I can't say exactly what that is for you the author, but I have all sorts of ideas that would fit from my own life and knowledge and it makes for a very powerful reading experience.
I also enjoy how the picture is very much a part of the writing.
