Wave on wave...

Wave on wave...

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Here in this darkness I feel the sea...

"

Here in this darkness I feel the sea

Wave on wave washes over me…

Slams my soul into stone and sand

Numbs my spirit, numbs my hand…

Cold chills drip quiet over my skin

Stunning my energy I hold within…

Taking all my breath with the waves

Stealing all joy my spirit craves…

And the struggles I make no one can see

Here in this darkness I feel the sea...

Shivers! You owe me a warm blanket! This was very terrifying, full of the fear of being trapped and utter lonliness. The sense of claustraphobia seems to permeate out of it as well.

I could feel the cold chills and the life sapp out of me.

Well writen Craig...but scary!

definitely a sadness... beautifully written

now... any chance you can go back into this moment and feel those waves crashing over you, and with each ebb and flow of her tide feel the darkness and sadness washing away? feel yourself being cleansed of all this hurt and pain...

Faerie Blessings!

Absolutely terrific!

Ironically I just came back from spending several days at the ocean. My "take" will be posted soon.

I love this piece. I love poetry about the ocean, it's so magical and has such a draw to it. Your words and imagery are so beautiful.

In poetry even sadness becomes beautiful.
The spreading emotions are wonderfully described using natural images of the sea. Human feelings can often be as powerful as the hit of the sea's waves, giving you a great advantage :) .
