Wave on wave...

Wave on wave...

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Here in this darkness I feel the sea...

"

Here in this darkness I feel the sea

Wave on wave washes over me…

Slams my soul into stone and sand

Numbs my spirit, numbs my hand…

Cold chills drip quiet over my skin

Stunning my energy I hold within…

Taking all my breath with the waves

Stealing all joy my spirit craves…

And the struggles I make no one can see

Here in this darkness I feel the sea...

The ebb and flow of the sea : the ebb and flow of life.. sometimes far away out of control and almost lost, sometimes it's so close, we could walk into the shallows then lose ourselves. Your poem is sad, so sad, but things can't stay sad forever, we can't let them, we mustn't. Smiling memories have to take the place of crying ones, then, we have to make more memories, find them somewhere.. they're there, not to take the place of the others but as comfort blankets.

As always you write so well, expressing feelings in the best form. You make people think and feel. Thank you.

Ah...a sad piece, yet beautiful. How often in life we find ourselves at this doorstep. Emotions like waves washing harder and harder against a weakening defense in our heart. A tale of heart break and frustration, woe and wanting to let go, into the icy chill of negative feelings.

We all walk this path. Only hope and the positive reinforcement of joy and laughter can get us to set ourselves free.

A walk on a different side of your writing. I enjoyed the difference.

Great Write!

This is so good. I can almost feel the tidal waves crashing unmercifully and taste the sea water. Amazing how we can parallel that to solid day to day living....cheers, lea

What a beautiful poem! I love how you used the cold ocean to symbolize your emotions.

Great Job can't wait to read more soon!!

Once again I'm very impressed!!
This poem speaks of emotion that I can feel & makes me feel like I'm at the beach!
The ocean can take your soul away & make you forget of whatever is going on in your life no matter what it is.
This poem is deeper than just the ocean though,
It has feelings that may not have anything to do with it but you put the feelings & the ocean together perfectlly!!

Oh Craig, such a lovely, sorrow-filled write. It has your signature "voice" as always, and I love it. They rhyming is subtle, yet powerful. Your writing always has this soft edge, but is so full of emotion, one cannot help but sigh upon reading it. Nice job my friend!

I also feel the rhythm of the waves dancing at the shore, ripples by ripples.

Awesome write.

Thank you.
