Freedom's fable

Freedom's fable

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Freedom is so often muted through the oppressive events of the day...

"

Freedom’s fable clasps and binds,

the beating wings of noble minds.

A vibrant color is deeply stained,

while darkly painted hues remain.

Grip firm your freedom in your hand,

and watch it slither as the sand.

Now grieve in muted liberty

 pain’s fortune-told captivity.

Ah yes, The so called "Fools Gold" We think we have it, then it turns out to be just smoke and mirrors, nothing more them an empty shell of what we thought we had bought into.

I love the analogy to the sand. Like an hourglass in it's sealed glass chamber, we are helpless to change the coarse. We can only watch as it slowly slips down and out of our clutches.

A wonderful Deep Poem. A thinker.

Great Write!

Wonderful piece. It makes me think of America, where we claim to be free. Are we really though? How long will we be able to brag about that? Not for too long, if we keep letting the government have all our rights for protection we can give ourselves.

This reads like a classic piece of old. I love the flow and the rhythm. You are such a wonderful poet!

2024 is here... May we make it so much more heaven than hell... Wishing all peace on earth... Together, maybe we go the distance... The night has a thousand eyes, And the day but one; Yet t.. more..
