Simple existence...

Simple existence...

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

A poetic passage from the book "An owl on the moon..." When I was suicidal it was as if I was just existing on the surface of my skin, not at all experiencing the depth of life.

"

To your simple existence, do not boast;

merely to breathe or move or think is not to live.

The shore of the sea is but a ghost,

compared to the depth its wholeness gives.

You exist in the miry foam;

make the ocean depths your home...

In the depths of the shallows is where wisdom hollows...🌹🌹

wonderful wisdom ...love the closing ... punctuated by rhyme .. i think that is pretty effective in adding a bit more punctuation to the theme
i read your comment as well and admire and respect what you have gone through ... and personifying the shore and oceans with our inner and outer lives is nice ..comes through loud and clear

C Froman,
Even in pain and in pleasure, joy and in great discouragement and everything in between: we are here, we are breathing.This line is so meaningful to me:""In somple existance do not boast. to merly breathe, move, think is not to live." With every heart beat is another moment to turn, to change our situation or attitude. The saying "time heals all wounds" can be true but oh life can be so fragile and tenuous! Your Poem "Simple Existence" gave me one more reminder to appreciate and be thankful within the moments of this life today. This line is very appealing: "Shore of the sea is but a ghost, compared to the depth its wholeness gives." This early poem of yours is very beautiful and the things that we want to hide from and make us cry are actually where we learn important lessons. Love this: "You exist in the miry foam; make the ocean depths your home......" Thank you thoughtful lady. I needed your voice today. Blessings............................Kathy

"merely to breathe or move or think is not to live" So true. I think only people who have been through tough times would understand that. Did that make sense? It did in my head :)

I love reading the stories you tell...

I love it. The imagery and emotion is vivid in this peice. I've been suicidal, still have suicidal tendencies and even without them, with the way society is now, I find myself feeling like I'm not really taking part in life, just going through the same routine, day after day. Not really experiening life, not a part of it, but truly apart from it.

Wow i really liked the way this one was written and also the style of changing the size and boldness of the lines gives it an extra emphisis on the emotion behind it.
