Mortality is so universal, so inevitable and no one born can live on forever. Perhaps, God invented death for a reason and its a well thought out plan, perhaps, its is indeed about resurrection, redemption and second or more chances. The ancient Hindu and Buddhist philosophies certainly indicate that and they weren't just indulging in wishful thinking. I think, being less steeped in materialism and worldliness, they could see and sense these things better and with more clarity.
This poem is very special to me as in three simple, beautifully crafted verses it it takes me to the silent woods of deep pondering on what is our eventual fate. The concluding verse just stirred my spirit and filled me with joy, peace and a hushed silence.
The chosen artwork added to the mist and mystique of the poem and filled me with much awe. Loved it.

And yes... perhaps... we must learn again about life... about renewal... hope... So grateful the words brought you peace. I wrote it within a dark time in my world... longing for that peace to come... Sending such joy to you now across the vast sea...

First, given my situation being surrounded by wildfires, mortality crosses my mind now & then. Normally I don't care about my own death, I've lived a long excellent life & I'll take whatever's dished out. Your poem makes me think of resurrection as being some as-yet unknown "next-step" -- whatever it is that happens after death & everyone has an idea about this -- & your message also makes it sound like a celebration, a progression, another opportunity to evolve. Why not? Why assume death is bad? That's only from the perspective of those left behind, which may or may not be meaningless in the realm of whatever comes next! Love the thought-provoking stimuli of your writing! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
2024 is here... May we make it so much more heaven than hell... Wishing all peace on earth... Together, maybe we go the distance...
