I’m left with a want to rise above everything at ground level and fly away, far from life’s suffering, drama, war, gossip, etc. There’s a peace in flight and a silence that calms. You’ve captured that so well here. And, the artwork is perfectly paired with your poem.

shouldn't life feel free, like we just float through it...i imagine through this poem a world without clocks, but then that would be one before there were people on this earth...just water and land and nature...
but we as humans put constraints on everything...we ration, we time things...we even time time.
And nature is forgotten....we get too busy to enjoy what was here for so long without us.
this poem really moves me.

"Sing me songs of the meadowed millpond mirrors
of melted anxieties drip dripping down
tell me what life should feel like..."
You exude brilliance in everything you post - in everything I have read. What an exhilarating thrill its been to read you after all these years... and another Cafe, later!

The image of "melted anxieties" reminds me partly of ice cream/Popsicles on a summer day, but also of that Salvador Dali piece of the melting clocks. Given this is part of your Wonderland collection, I think this is fitting. If I recall correctly, no time had passed from when Alice fell down the rabbit hole to when she re-emerged. This poem has a very peaceful tone, despite the references to violence and darkness. Please keep writing and adding to this collection!

This is breathtakingly beautiful! I can relate to your words so well! "tell me what life should feel like/
surely not this over-burdened fight" it's one of the purest things I've read in a long time. Thumps up!
