careless days driftingA Poem by An owl on the moonI found hope...Careless days
drifting softly over
my tongue like apricot honey, sweet
and slow on summer’s edge. How the sun
paints your cheeks with
a hint of rose-kissed blushes and
you dance; rhythm and rouge. Rain can’t wash
off your radiance; no
lipstick smeared, chalked cheeks, just
a scent of apple-orchard bouquets. And me, dabbled
in the shallow shade where
sometimes I’ll stop breathing in wondered dreams wrapped in warm skin. How the world
melts away in a smile, warmish-whispers
dancing on wind; I
found hope, and hope has your eyes. © 2019 An owl on the moonReviews
