Fight earth, and sky, and visions vapor

Fight earth, and sky, and visions vapor

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

I hear a swifting song of subtle silence...

"

Bars of gold encrusted with diamond dust enshrines me. I hear a swifting song of subtle silence:

Golden bars make no less a prison

than a coffin on a hill.

And in caged reformation,

one wanders aimless still.

The rafters now a recollection

of sacred suppression.

How the morning dawn

strikes mourning confession.

Now Death yields a harvest

of the living masses.

We walk toward its path

no earthly power surpasses.

I look about me, surrounded by shrouded stones and shifting sand. The gold bars swift to golden rays of deepening sunlight, as black stone lifts itself above the raging foam. The sea erupts, engulfing the sun as a deadened darkness dances through me.

A chilling wind shivers my skin, and in my transfixed weary walk I taste its bitter marrow. As I stand transfixed, I see a shadow flighting above the frozen waves. It is Sarah, her figure draped in a crystal fog.  Through this cold hellish haze she reaches her hand out to mine. I step toward her on the waves, but I am swallowed by the sea. She speaks.

“When swallowed by your desperation,

walk above the torrents raging.

And in your fearful, wandering state,

Fight earth, and sky, and visions vapor.”

Your writing always speaks to me. And even though your writing style is quite flamboyant, it still leaves a lasting message(some writers who have the same style, often write poems that seem pretty only on the surface). I especially liked how you mixed the prose with the poetry here! Good writing!

I like the way you mix prose & poetry, altho I must admit I like your prose a little better (that is, I can understand it more readily!) You have a very flowing, artistic, elevated style, full of imagery that provokes deep consideration. I won't try to comment on your message, however, becuz I'm not sure I can interpret your nuances (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

I deeply appreciate your kindness, dear friend.
"How the morning dawn

This phrase spoke to me....The piece itself lends a violent release of something, everything, nothing. Yet, it is beauty in disguise of those things awaiting us on the other side of agony. This gift of your words is akin to a wrapped treasure under the tree. Beautiful brother!

Your writings are so beautiful and brilliant. Golden bars make no less a prison than a caffin on a hill' . How true. Only those who appreciate the value of freedom (from material things) feel this way?
