A Shrine to Fragments of Light

A Shrine to Fragments of Light

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

A song to Spring…

"

Long lay the slumberous winter

Clothed in shards of whimpering white

Barren and bleak, this desert wasteland

Until I sensed her verdant approach

Sweet sunlight on her soft shoulders

Robed in vibrant flowing fabrics

Tulip, crocus, and rose-petal threads

She is crowned in succulent birdsong

Flowering fields rise in her rippling wake

And she whispers the soft sigh of seed time

As Earth comes to life by her touch

Every petal a shrine to fragments of light.

The kiss of the sun in spring feels like love in bloom.
