an epic tale .. told well ... i think you must have worked hard to trim this just right ..each line with equal importance and flows smoothly to the next ...completing a story in whose ending, i see the beginnings ... so .. i am saying i enjoyed reading ;) the naming of the hero, the Netherlander, is strong says i ..i am reminded of the Gunslinger in Steven King's tale ... "The Dark Tower"

Perhaps love to be immortal, has to be scarred...? Perhaps voices of love have to die and fade for echoes to be immortal. Why do we cling to mist? Because we and our very nature is mist, fleeting, uncertain and frail....our answers lie in the dust that we become and in the stars that we hope to reach for...
You are such a divinely inspired poet. Reading your poetry is a spiritual journey for me.

Yes, true, deep, abiding love is always filled with scars, for it stays even in the fire, in the flood, in the painful places. And yes, oh the everlasting echoes keep it thriving, lifetime to lifetime. Your words speak so profoundly to my soul.

I am thankful I could reach out and touch you, dear Craig. It is such a blessing.
"Divine tapestry of a thousand scars"
Indeed. Life is like that. At times, utterly barbarous and sometimes, like a blanket to keep you save. Your writing is really good.
Why do I cling to mist?
Perhaps, for placid self-disposition, for happiness and for much more.
And that quote of Qabbani was really good one to share!
Thanks for it, and of course your work! Loved it completely. :)

I finally realized how much scars can speak into us. And how many of us share scars, so we find courage as they heal. May you have a new week filled with wondrous inspirations. :)

I am familiar with & enjoy the "Merlin Magic" meaning, but I feel your poem is still crystal clear for someone who is not familiar becuz you take the time to describe the details & not relying on the references to other works to assist in clarifying what you mean. That way, someone can look this other information up or not . . . either way, your poem is enjoyable & interesting. I love the title . . . so true . . . when my sister talks about our childhood abuse, she's constantly showing actual physical scars as she speaks. I love your message & I've been wanting to write it with a more raw & realistic approach (thanks for the inspiration!)

Just so you know, I still do cling to the mist. I hope everyone does
Why? Because it's always there, like a veil, hiding from itself as it hides the essence of love and need. Perhaps. You write with amazing colours, content neat even though the meaning near volatile. Seems the past holds you, yet your words move you all the time.. and will. Hopefully.
'Life is woven in frail fabric... ' it is indeed.

There is much mystery to life in every detail, and it seems at least that poets try and look beyond the veil or at least to sense the presence of it all around us... the sacred flow of things that connect us all. Wishing you such a glorious night.
reminds me of something I've heard several times in the past, "the beauty is in the imperfections"... something can be so beautiful and tragic at the same time. we may not see it in the moment, but once we look at the details and those individual strands in the tapestry, then we see the true story and the magical beauty that was there all along. My grandmother used to tell me that "scars show character and strength" I didn't understand it then, but the older I get, the more true it rings. why do we search for something that is known to cause such pain, to cause wars, to inevitably be doomed in theory from the start? because love is that powerful.. we (romantics) cling to the hope, reach for that mist, chase those rainbows in search of the greatest feeling in the world--to truly love and be loved, for there is nothing that compares. old tales or new, some things never change. Nicely written as always my dear friend. Love to come visit for my dose of enchantment. I have missed you and hope all is well.
