I Remember Blue

I Remember Blue

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Before the colors of the world were tainted…

"

I remember blue

electric wilds of flight

before the colors of the world were tainted

breathing shades of blush

painting virulent days

days drifting

merging as raindrops into rivers

drops of simplicity

became oceans of complexity

complexity now

now in this moment

as you peer into my mind

sense in my soul who I am

make some sense of who I was

feel my heartbeat

as you rhythm read these letters

landscapes form

mindscapes of freshly fallen show

show a voice

a voice painted in recollections

mirrored reflections

and I still remember blue

somehow…

I do so appreciate your kindness! May your new year be pure joy.
Poignant and beautifully conveyed as usual.

I appreciate your words, and your silences. :)
Blue has always been my favourite colour. This reads with a great rhythm and beat. About the only thing I would question would be this line...mindscapes of freshly fallen show...I still tend to read snow. Good write

Thank you Ted. Hoping brilliant blue always floods your world.
I like the way in which you ascribe a purity, or even a divine characteristic to blue.....sometimes we think too often that it is a cold color.....but it offers so much more....like the line "as you rhythm read these letters"......isn't it beautiful when words can carry a beat, and not only inherent meaning?

Great poetry.

I am so grateful for your thoughts. Yes, to me blue has a sacred, sweet depth to it. May you always .. read more
I hate this font (hard to read) but I love everything else. Yours is a gracefully conceived word journey thru nostalgia & sharing & connection. The best part about this write is the way it's packed with vivid original imagery, yet it feels very simple & straightforward to read. This is a special skill. Many who try for this often end up with a descriptive cluster-f**k. I bow down in admiration (palms to dirt, butt to sky) . . .

Thank you so much Julie. What a joy to have you by again. :)
There is a thread of melancholy connecting every line of this well written poem. Without a bit of "blue" how can we appreciate the rosy days? Beautifully written. Lydi**

Dear Lydi, yes, the melancholy of remembrance, before the world ached so deeply. Thank you.
The picture itself blows you away. We all want the blue. Just to say to ourselves, we're still alive.
The seasons like the years seem to go so fast now, as the pace of life intensifies.
Someday we'll all relax.
