Awaken, dreamer

Awaken, dreamer

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

From "An Owl on the Moon"

"

What fills your heart with fright?

Is it brilliant day or darking night?

The howling sun consumes

the paling sparkle of the moon

With step on step you find

the tortured banter of your mind

Now clouds your shifting sky

Awaken, dreamer, it’s time to die...

I am so thankful for your words, your insights and understanding, dear Fran.
A very haunting poem...your flow is so eloquent and lulling, like a voice singing me to sleep...beckoning me to live this dream that you talk of... Perhaps life itself is just a dream and only death can wake us up...

True! Nice and good to know.
A mystical voice speaks to the busy dreamer, shakes him from his slumber to take him to a place where there are no dreams. Its a fearful thought...One day all dreams good or bad will end in an eternal dark sleep. Loved this poem Craig.

It is sad. Sweet dreams must die when we awake. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Always my pleasure to read your work and you are welcome.
Haunting and chilling! The opening questions didn't let me ponder much till I reached the end of the fourth line. It was like I am given two doors for exit-dark n white and I chose the white one, feeling it is evidently safer. However, the truth dawned upon me later that danger and fear are ardent to follow me everywhere,no matter through which door I flee. The image you have portrayed of the sun and the moon here made me felt that way.
The last line just left me astounded! It's short but powerful and dark.
