Well, I suppose they are as good as any animals. Something about their eyes just screams intelligence. Heck, what not to like.
As to the poem itself,
Once more you poke at the right points. Evoking thought and emotion.
I've learned, with your poems, that it is best to read them aloud to fully let them do their work.
You have a talent, that's a given.
I wish I could give more insightful remarks, but my poetry skills begin and end with rhymes. While I can enjoy, I'm not that good when it comes to improvement.
Still,
Thank you for the read.

Thank you so much for your insights, and your uplifting thoughts. And yes, my first novel was called An Owl on the Moon. It speaks so much of my soul, living in the lonely, haunted places. And yet, I do find light in the strangest places. Wishing you such a beautiful, inspired week.
'.. as light peeps through the shadows.. where does the white owl fly!'
However beautiful and mysterious the sight of an owl sweeping across night... there's a sadness in its call - for me. Seems it's trying to hide its emotions in the dark.. become part of it, unseen.. somehow used to its loneliness - its being present. Think you've captured all those elements for me.. and as ever, written beauty.

Yes, owls have always been lonely creatures of the night, wandering, watching, awakening with the moon. How they live like so many of us, in those haunted places. Wishing you only joy for your moonlit weekend now. :)
To be honest...
You have never ever disappointed me, whenever I came to read your poems......You have always left me wondering from where you get all these thoughts.
You have such a charm in your poems which catches the attention of the reader and let the reader absorb himself into the eerie silence of your poems.
Well done and please keep writing like this.

Oh what a beautiful poem. I had the exhausting pleasure of trying to track down an owl on a farm this past weekend.....it refused to perch on the special box the farmer made for it next to the barn (supposed to be a barn owl) but insisted to evict the woodpecker out of the nest it took three months to build....
Nature is cruel sometimes. The wise old owl - just like us - does not always act in line with its expected wisdom. At least he looks the part.....
Love the line "vibrations of light in the mind's eye", though in the last line, it felt as if "ancient" was a bit redundant, being used twice, as if you could have used a different adjective to describe echoes or sighs.....just a thought....:)
