My Last Great Darkness

My Last Great Darkness

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

In the stillness of your sanctuary

"

I remember

When it swallowed all light

The first darkness

That crept slowly into the edges of me

Isolation as all else faded

Terror as the night howled

Haunting silences with a fragrance of lavender

Yet I stood

Uncertain, but defiant

And the enlightenment spoke

Showing me that every cell

Every thread of me

Was inscribed with your name

So now I exist

In my last great darkness

The angel calls “Tranquility”

Waiting

Wandering

I sit sighing

Seeking with every breath

To bless you

Seeking my homeland

Within you

Though for now

I am merely

A silhouette

In the transcendence

Of your incandescence

In the stillness of your sanctuary

"Showing me that every cell

I like how these words remind me of unconditional devotion, which still exists even after your significant other has moved on from you.

Calm and tranquility....we all long for it and only when we have found it do we know how important it is in our lives. When you find that person who allows you to "live" in their soul, it is forever. A very different love poem, but a very romantic view of life. I enjoyed this. Lydi**

We can lose sight of our own place in the divine in our pursuit of romantic love ... The thing is the object our affection do appear divinely beautiful, don't they. Just like this poem:)
