![]() My Last Great DarknessA Poem by An owl on the moon![]() In the stillness of your sanctuary![]() I remember When it swallowed all light The first darkness That crept slowly into the edges of me Isolation as all else faded Terror as the night howled Haunting silences with a fragrance of lavender Yet I stood Uncertain, but defiant And the enlightenment spoke Showing me that every cell Every thread of me Was inscribed with your name So now I exist In my last great darkness The angel calls “Tranquility” Waiting Wandering I sit sighing Seeking with every breath To bless you Seeking my homeland Within you Though for now I am merely A silhouette In the transcendence Of your incandescence In the stillness of your sanctuary © 2016 An owl on the moonAuthor's Note
