THERE IS WILDNESS IN MEA Poem by An owl on the moonI was born under the glintering of a gray Cheshire moon...I was born under the glintering of a gray Cheshire moon On a January day, with bright echoes of the blue June And in the lace of a meadow’s sweet saffron skirt You would find me in untamed wilding dreams to flirt No chains could hold my restless sun-stained skin Ancient mariner in antique rhymes had raged within I devoured bolts of light that dance on howls of thunder In the fiercing fires of stars with sapphired rich plunder Found Aladdin’s lamp in Seurat’s surreal brass painted feast Riding into Xanadu with Kubla Khan’s power unleashed Now listening to skies’ scarlet serenade being set free I beat my primal chest, for there is wildness in me… © 2016 An owl on the moonAuthor's Note
