THERE IS WILDNESS IN ME

THERE IS WILDNESS IN ME

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

I was born under the glintering of a gray Cheshire moon...

"

I was born under the glintering of a gray Cheshire moon

On a January day, with bright echoes of the blue June

And in the lace of a meadow’s sweet saffron skirt

You would find me in untamed wilding dreams to flirt

No chains could hold my restless sun-stained skin

Ancient mariner in antique rhymes had raged within

I devoured bolts of light that dance on howls of thunder

In the fiercing fires of stars with sapphired rich plunder

Found Aladdin’s lamp in Seurat’s surreal brass painted feast

Riding into Xanadu with Kubla Khan’s power unleashed

Now listening to skies’ scarlet serenade being set free

I beat my primal chest, for there is wildness in me…

Reading your poems is always a pleasure. Your words are treasures, loveable and creating vivid images, fairytale-like, leading the reader into another world. I especially love the first line containing the expression: Cheshire moon. So good.

You're welcome. :)
Those simultaneously scary and inspirational moments when we are confronted with the wild blood flowing through our veins you have captured so well......

And I love your reference to Aladdin.....the mystique.....the bravery.....the uncertainty....all wrapped up in the wonderful conundrums we find in our own souls....

You have inspired me to write a poem now...:)
