I DREAM OF THE SEA

I DREAM OF THE SEA

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

The sea is woven liquid white...

"

The sea is woven liquid white

foaming ripples in the night

blue crests of dabbled drops

moving, dancing ... never stops

soft salt spray on ashen birds

wind that speaks in silent words

a song I’ve heard since I was young

eons the world has had it sung

on stone and sand, waves caress

the frothy foam of ocean’s dress

and in my dreams I see her face

the one I long for in this place…

Thank you so much. I truly do miss the sea.
you really write so good and your writing take us at another place which i like the most....
but just wanna tell you this which i found in your every writing that "you miss someone so badly"...
and apart from this "wind that speaks in silent words" i agree with this because i personally love the wind and feel like as they are whispering in my ears...
good one.

This poem brought me utter peace when I read it. Truly tranquil and calm, just like the sea itself. Strange, the sea can be so calm, yet it can bottle up and roar as its waves become rough and intense. Very beautiful, I must say.

you're very welcome Mr. Froman :)
I enjoyed this poem. It leaves the reader free to fill in their own details. Much like framing a picture and basing a canvass. Much like the vastness of the oceans framed by the shoreline.
Simplicity in presentation, yet complexly abounds upon deeper inspection.

Your style has always been to encrust ideas and emotions so heavily with imagery that I did wonder if you would ever one day run out of effective descriptions.

"ashen birds"

NO. Seems you don't. You're like a human machine of meaning modifiers. Loved this one, very beautiful, very belonging and new to me.
