Chrysalis Wings

Chrysalis Wings

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Dressed in hushed white lace...

"

Ange doux, Ange doux, Ange doux

Dressed in hushed white lace

Rivers of solace in softest sighs…

Seule âme, Seule âme, Seule âme

Woven in a threaded tapestry

A fabric of gold and ashen flames…

Chrysalide coulisses, Chrysalide coulisses, Chrysalide coulisses

Opening, transforming before my eyes

She lifts, and beckons, rising into sunrise…

Author's Note

An owl on the moon
“When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty, but of her weirdness. They wanted her to change back into what she always had been. But she had wings.” ― Dean Jackson

(French: Sweet angel… One soul… Chrysalis wings…)

Its hard to be a butterfly in scenic caterpillars. Transformation is lonely. What meaning-full words you play for us in your symphonies. To be different is beautiful. May her feet never touch the ground again :)

Craig, you clever little devil you! What a precious piece you have here. I LOVE the addition of the French translation. Brings about a whole new color to it. And I love your little quote by Dean Jackson....about her weirdness. How often it happens, yet you have shown how lovely different can be. Truly inspiring. I want to go fly now :)

She certainly sounds like an emerging butterfly. Why do those without wings resent them on ohers?

Like a butterfly, young girls seem to emerge from their cocoons. Enchanting poetry, Craig. The sweet angel of youth does not always stay so sweet. However, your words have her frozen in time in a sepia scene that ironically bursts with color! So lovely. Lydi**
