Sweet Winter's Eyes

Sweet Winter's Eyes

A Poem by An owl on the moon
"

Please give me sweet winter’s eyes...

"

Please give me sweet winter’s eyes

Sight through barren limbs

Endless miles of variegated visions…

Summer limbs and leaves wall the world

Binding, blinding vines, restless noise

Yet winter speaks in hushed silence…

Let me grasp firm the hand

Of my dearest friend

And we shall let loose the grasp of

Anxiety

Fear

Sadness

The wayward poison that weaves

Doubts and pain…

And let our hearts find silence

Sweet music of winter stillness…

Grant us ever sweet winter’s eyes

So we may know our path of peace…

Author's Note

An owl on the moon
While wandering the woods, I noticed how much further I could see in the winter with the earth's barren branches... Wanting to see life with those eyes...
