Sweet Winter's EyesA Poem by An owl on the moonPlease give me sweet winter’s eyes...Please give me sweet winter’s eyes Sight through barren limbs Endless miles of variegated visions… Summer limbs and leaves wall the world Binding, blinding vines, restless noise Yet winter speaks in hushed silence… Let me grasp firm the hand Of my dearest friend And we shall let loose the grasp of Anxiety Fear Sadness The wayward poison that weaves Doubts and pain… And let our hearts find silence Sweet music of winter stillness… Grant us ever sweet winter’s eyes
