A DECEMBER PRAYER

All radiant the world in light

 

Do bring serenity to our night

Ever-eloquent melodies fair

Come now to our Wonderland to share

Evanescent fragrant winds

May you softly grace our friends

Become for us incandescent hope

Endless tranquility when we grope

Riding ‘neath the wintry chill

Past a kaleidoscope of daffodils

Resplendent songs of poetic choirs

And sapphire glowing silken fires

Yielding forever peace and then

Eloquent peals of love again

Ring golden gleaming bells, Amen!

For a very serene poem it feels very flowery. It's not a bad thing I just think it needs a background and a root to the poem. Otherwise, I feel that it's trying to bring life into the darkness, well done. I just wasn't expecting the poem in congruence to the picture. I expected something more warm with the use of 'incandescent."

Although I missed this in December, I can't help but be swept away in the nostalgia of the wintery wonder and beauty. Excellent writing, I loved the easy flow that whisked me away with the creative descriptions. It had the warm comfort of a hot chocolate that soothes the soul and sweetens the palate. Awesome piece. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Some good prose here, as always, great flow from line to line. My only problem is that I am having a hard time visualizing the lines, but that isn't your fault by any means... I have a hard time imagining snow or winter to be beautiful like most people. To me it is about loneliness and desolation, so I have a hard time when two such different concepts conflict!

Ah.. true! Winter is truly my least favorite of the seasons.. especially when the car is sliding on the ice... It can seem a dark, foreboding place that swallows the soul... But I try to find lights in the darkest of places... It has been said that "a certain darkness is needed to see the stars."

Craig, your words and thoughts are absolutely beautiful. This December Prayer radiates the meaning of the Christmas Spirit..spreading everlasting love and hope for all. I love this line as it conjures a place in my mind of where anything is possible. "Past a kaleidoscope of daffodils" This is perhaps one of the most beautiful prayers I have read.
