Hope has slept like a bear in winter

I’ve cursed the darkness as I lay cold

Mieux vaut plier que rompe…

More than once a façade of faith

A dance of beggars and acrobats

Les petits ruisseaux font les grandes rivières...

A garden where your dreams can grow

Painted pink and cerulean skies above

Tout vient à point à qui sait attendre...

Your golden hair; your gentle touch

Hope is waking, I can see it in your eyes

L'espoir se réveille…

Author's Note

An owl on the moon
Mieux vaut plier que rompre
(Better to bend than to break)
Les petits ruisseaux font les grandes rivières
(The little streams make the big rivers)
Tout vient a point qui sait attendre
(All comes in time to the one who knows how to wait)
L'espoir se réveille…
(Hope is waking up)

The hope wakes up.... such a beautiful poem, Craig. I adored it. Your words are tender and delicate like the fine petals of an orchid, rare and aromatic. Lovely and organic. From your hands, stardust is strewn across my night sky in shades of vibrant sonnet, and it's always such a treasure to become enamored within the blanket of your sentiments.

Lovely and fascinating write, I sincerely adore it.

It's such a blessing to have by Siddhartha!
Love the imagery and contrast of tones and how enchanting and simple this piece is. So soothing to my racing mind after a night of killer books. This is a nice distraction from studying and so lovely.

Oooooh la la. This reminds me of the flexibility of the medium. Polyglotic, artistic, infinite in possibility. Thank you Craig.

And there was I, painstakingly translating the dormant French I used to be fluent in once upon a yesteryear, when I could've scrolled to your 'note' Lol.
A beautiful message filled with hope, enjoyed the poetry as always :)

Beautiful love! Hope is the best Muse. Hold tight love. Spring is fighting her way in and our power will strengthen with nature's birth to bloom and new life will fill us with inspiration. Hibernation of the sensitive souls will breathe in the crisp fresh awakenings.

Thank you! Let hope devour the sorrow as spring devours winter, precious poet. Yes!
I am somewhat torn here, Craig, as I cannot bear to say anything negative about your delectable thoughts-in-verse, but (speaking only for myself, of course), I found it somewhat unnerving to have to scroll up to read the English, then down to find out what the French meant. It broke the continuity, I felt. I I would appreciate learning your thought process--what end was achieved--by incorporating them thus.
When Jola and I were composing bilingually, we avoided that problem (if problem it is) by writing the entire English version above, and the original Polish below that. Help me to understand what goal was achieved by this interleaving approach.
