In copious clouds of lathered foam

Palatial cities blindly stare

At crenellated battled walls

The vestibule of earth and stone…

Influential once on brittle pages

The paraphernalia of broken days

Philanderers stripped the beds of lace

In rooms of baroque-colored dreams…

Here the rain is my restorative space

Reduced by my minimalist grasp

Unheroic stains of crimson drapes

I elaborate inauthentic fragments of memory...

An excellent bit of prose, rather wispy and haunting at the same time.

Cool poem of haunted life and images done with a beauty.
Excellent poetic pen upon this.

i like abstract...and the fragments of memory works well here...because the fragments are "inauthentic"--

so what is real? the clouds, the rain...yes, those are real...but is the world still here or has it been stripped bare...do people still exist or have they have made themselves extinct through all of their very "unheroic" acts.

Your poem is so visual, but then again, everything I've read of yours usually is....which is why I'm a fan of your writings. Picturing earth from the cloudy realms, seeing the devastation that man has caused, all in selfish hopes of fulfilling human dreams of vanity-----and that rain, like God's grace, washes it clean. Great write and you've written it so beautifully.

woah this is probably my favorite poem of yours EVER!--i can't even decide which lines i like best since they are all so crafty put together

BUT if i had to choose...
"Philanderers stripped the beds of lace
In rooms of baroque-colored dreams"

indeed so perfect!---this poem wraps me up in a blanket and transports me to a far out world where there is one human and nature all around, contemplation of life's journeys and surreal encounters!

This took me up into the air as I flew around in this dream world.
Absolutely beautiful.

Holy, that's the most beautiful read ever on the wages of war. Love it, that's an understatement to be honest. Outstandinginly speaks to the ravages of war's aftermath. Brilliant!
