Empty Soul

Empty Soul

A Poem by AaronFreitas
"

Originally a song I wrote way back Feb 10, 2008, changed a couple things so I could share. It was written about a specific moment in my life where things weren't good.

"

Nothing's ever perfect
Nothing's ever fair
I look into these eyes
And see this blank stare

Frayed since my creation
Abandoned from the start
My mother never loved my dad
And it breaks my f*****g heart!

Made to disappoint
Destined to fail
Created for your laughter
Only I could never tell

I am so pathetic
It’s so sad to see
I am just a worthless liar
but that’s what you made of me

That’s why you did it
That’s why you left me empty
Torn between my family
And it’s not sad for you to see

Why me? Why me?
What did I do to deserve this empty destiny?
Why me? Why me?
Take my empty soul and leave me free to be

You gave me life
But left me in this empty hole
So take my life
And my empty soul

The absolute despair that this poem emotes it gut wrenching! The feelings that I am sure many children from broken homes feel, and don't know how to express are being shared in this poem with you as their mouth piece.

My pleasure!
Very good Aaron in a sad and painful way. I know from your writing that you have connection with this pain. Hopefully you are more on the outside looking in now rather than under all the pain. One of your best.

Your life and your future is your girls. Peace out.

and when we look upon our lives and observe what we like about it and what we may not like about it we have the chance to make the change for ourselves - for if we don't do it for ourselves - who will? one life, one chance to be the difference we wish to see.

My father once told me that we take the good things about our parents and use them for when we are ourselves parents - the rest - the stuff we don't like - we throw away - neither of my parent came from over loving families and therefore I myself never recieved hugs and kisses you usually get from your parents - I don't blame them for that - no way - I can observe the way they grew up and turned out the way in which they did - but instead I give my two boys all the hugs, all the kisses to show them that it's ok to love hard and strong so they then can improve on what I have given to them as a parent :)

this is a very emotive write and I can see many layers of pain - the trick is now to accept the pain and claim your own life and live it in a way that people you come into contact with will recieve all that you missed out on - then my dear freind, the love will start to flow back your way X X

Very powerful, Aaron. It must have made for a very mixed up emotional test going through the process of growing up. It must have seemed very lonely at times. But there's a lot to be said in your favor for surviving this psychological trauma to become the good man that you are. You made it, Aaron...and you're stronger for having done so! take care...dan

Very nicely written. You can feel the emotion of the words. I love conflict between anger and saddened. I can relate very much so. I enjoyed it a lot
