Demonic Plague

Demonic Plague

A Poem by AaronFreitas
"

I honestly don't even know where this came from but when I wrote this is what came out.

"

I have an infatuation with demons

that inexplicably pluck innocent

thoughts from the mind and

replace them with pure evil.

If I can’t fight them off

I will find myself drowning

in a pool of blood and death

while slowly roasting in hell.

Where do we find strength

when all we know has already

turned its back on us and

left us to rot in a world full of hate?

We leave our lasting impression

by defining the strength we find

even if only momentarily to fight

and destroy what is our fate.

This is so of a fantasy form of poetry; some of the choice of words depicts mid-darkness and horror. Words like pure-evil, drowning in a pool of blood and death, roasting in hell, are threatening to the poet and knowing such predicaments are sure to come unless he defeated that which need to be fight off, haunts him. Many things are to be drawn from this piece of amazing write-up, but this I've for now. Thanks for sharing.... Bona!

It probably came from your clairvoyant visions as you read the intentions of a criminal demon that was getting ready to commit a crime

And when it noticed that you uncovered its intentions it probably went and alerted other demons

But there is not a thing to fear because by nature all demons are weak and decayed and that is the reason they do not have physical form.

:) all is great my friend, just very busy....i miss being here. take care
there is always the shadow of one's dark side beside the reflection one's purity. and there is always the victory of purity over dark side but that victory come with strength, this is what you write and make an image of magic one from love side and other from hate side and the magic of incardine glows so high.

Good write, Aaron. especially

lines are defining truth and that is victory comes with strength and with that strength we show that we can defeat out fate.

Thank you for sharing.

you're welcome!
I'd just as soon put those nasty thought down to demons as psychosis is a mood disorder, thank you very much. I've been through therapy, fought PTSD (now there's some demons), and struggled with depression. It took 187 poems, two years and a close circle of friends both on line end off, to feel normal again. Writing helped a lot. But our site was full of kids with even worse issues of self harm, and in guiding a few of them, I found my way too. It helped to have a release, then focus outward.

Yes it is the dark side of man... thank you for your review :)
It is in the oddest of times that we find darkness creeping it's way into our heads. The fun part is deciding to embrace these dark ideas or to push them aside and wait for the next one to come along. They are hard to deny, that's for sure. This was a cool reflective piece. Love that I can always expect something dark from you :)

Hi! I enjoyed reading this poem. You gave the vision that hell is not a place; it's a state of self, a state of mind.

"If I can’t fight them off
I will find myself drowning
in a pool of blood and death
while slowly roasting in hell."

I can't even stress how true this is. When we are being plagued by our tortured thoughts it does feel like we are experiencing hell and we feel like we won't ever get out. I also like how the poem ended. It is indeed tough to fight our battles with the hell inside us, especially with how the world is. But it's true that we somehow find the strength to keep on fighting until we don't have to anymore. Wonderful writing! I'm glad I stumbled upon your poem. :)
