Are we alone?

Real short true story... this was me last night.

I could feel it… she was standing there watching me as I slept. Subconsciously I awoke to ask her if everything was ok but she didn't respond. I rolled over and looked up to see her shadow... she looked me in my eyes then walked away. Sometimes I forget I live alone but in reality we are never really alone are we?

Hi Aaron. I am not a great fan of prose in poetry, and so very seldom read it. You have written well and it was a pleasant read, but personally, I think that format lacks punch. I did love the wording, you got it right !!! just . . . I'm into structure, not reading books, I guess, alf

We are never alone. Shadows haunt us, whether its our own or someone else's. We are haunted by our memories and emotions. The feeling, whether great or dreadful, the moments from the past will be there forever.
Reflect in those memories, find peace and achieve the silence, which will bring you calmness.

Well when I was little, maybe 5 or 6, my dad was in Kuwait during the war. My mom had woken up during the night, and looked over into my room. She saw a male figure in a suit and a fedora, but she wasn't scared. He was looking over my bed. She looked away, and then he was gone. Later on, like weeks later she was at my grandma's house and in the hall are pictures of relatives. She saw a picture of a man that looked like the figure, and it turns out it was my great-grandfather!

Aaron: Very well done. Are we alone? Great title, and made me think...I'm trying to think "No" God is always with us because it's 12:37 am and if I go the other way it could get scary. First, the thought of someone watching over us while we sleep, beautiful, depending on who it is..(angel, here I go again), Second like, very creative, good content, still keeping me in suspence, and the final sentence is thought provoking. No, we're probably not!! Very interesting. I never really used to 'believe' in the 'paranormal', but the more I investigate, the more clear it becomes that there is....Something!!

There was a documentary I saw on netflix about a guy who was seeing really crazy stuff that no one else could see, and he wasn't crazy! Sorry, I forget the name of it now.
Also my son when he was very young, it seemed as if he could see something that we couldn't sometimes, my wife thought it was her father who had recently passed away. Who knows?!
