Saturday Night

This is my lonely Saturday night... choosing no fun.

It’s Saturday night 7:26 pm…

I am sitting on my couch all alone.

I’m thinking, deciding on the night.

Do I go out, have fun and live it up?

Or should I sit here and watch Netflix?

Watch, all alone with nothing but a beer….

It sounds depressing but I have no one to share with.

I want to cuddle but I have no partner.

I want to kiss but there’s no woman with me.

I want to feel alive but life is stuck on pause.

What to do, should I sit and wait?

It’s Saturday night, and I am telling a story….

A story of how each night goes, the story of my life.

I guess I’ll choose self-destruction tonight.

Pop open this beer, wrap up this blunt….

Medicate all pains away, clear my mind,

Stare at the t.v. with only a beautiful woman in mind.

I’ll share this moment with no one but myself…

The Netflix, the couch, the blunt--the revolving safety blanket prison for the anxious. Wonderful perspective. Fresh in the form, yet so, so familiar. Great write, man, I particularly like the line which includes 'life is stuck on pause', it compliments the scene perfectly.

Well I feel you capture a lonely night of reflection. I find writing some times keeps me from doing something because an idea has come to me. I get lost in writing and the day and night can be lost. So put down the pen, take your blund and go have some beer. When you find a nightly soulmate, share the blunt and share some love. Or a shallow 5 minutes depending on your needs. Thanks for sharing One final thought, you may want to add a dog and a pickup truck and I think you might have a country song.

I can relate to this on some level. This used to be me, minus the beer & the blunt. Haha. My poisons of choice were a pint of gelato & some chocolate.

From experience, if you don't start doing things for yourself, the future will be much more dim than you hope. I have been married for 6 years, but together for 15. I am unappreciated, I am used as a maid and chef. It was only recently that I had hit bottom and had enough and have been doing things by myself or with a friend. Just to do them. Go for a drive. Go have a beer that I sip on for two hours just to get away. Go for a run to make myself feel better. Don't let the past or the present, the over abundance of time or lack thereof, or depression hold you back. Do YOU.

Thats what I am doing my friend. I was with my ex for 10 years married for 8. It's done now and I am working on building myself to be the best me I can be. I'm leaving to Vegas tonight or tomorrow.. I'm trying to do me :) Come share a beer lol

life can be pretty hard to deal with sometimes. I've been in this situation more than once and its not too great. yeah, going out sounds so nice, but the comfort of your own home seems so much nicer. sometimes you just gotta get up and get on the ball. i've been there, and i know others have been too. everything works out in the end, just make sure you let your end come when it wants to. you seem like a swell guy and i'm sure you'll meet a nice person to be with. just have faith in yourself.
