Proof of Faith

Today me and my daughters narrowly avoided a 6 car pileup in the rain... it was as if time stopped so we could be spared.

When I prayed last night, I asked you to keep us safe;
Protect my family, especially, my beautiful daughters.
Today, you reached down and kept us out of harm's way;
Kept us alive by missing that accident-- proof of Faith.

I thank you, and my daughters thank you.
I made sure they understood exactly who protected us.
I asked them each to pray and thank you personally
As we drove away from the pileup, shaken emotionally.

Faith is confidence in what we hope for;
Faith is belief in what we do not see.
You proved that today, Lord, by saving my family, so
I'll take this opportunity to share my faith through poetry.

I take it this is autobiographical too. Thank God you all got away untouched. I guess prayers are never prayed in vain. Br safe all of you. This is really an emotional piece. An eye-opener too, that God really exists.


Small correction- Second stanza, is there an apostrophe required,shouldn't it be "Daughters"? And in the second last line of the last stanza, a comma after "Lord" would make it more effective.

Thank you Nazia :) Apparently 2 people died in the accident... at least thats what my daughter saw on the news. We are lucky... He kept us from harm :)

" God has given us 86400 seconds in a day, but we have taken even one second to thank him"

This is what the adage hots my mind here.

I had read a story named A letter to God, in which a farmer named Lencho is really very sorrowful as his crops were ruined because of hailstorm. So, he decides to write a letter to God asking money. When he write it the man in the post office replies it with almost half the money, as he only had that. He did not only give money for help but to keep the Lencho's faith in God. When Lencho receives it he is not surprised at all, because he knew God will help him. Then the story follows.

In a nutshell, faith is really a wonderful thing.
