Have a little Faith

Have a little Faith

A Poem by AaronFreitas
"

This is what is in my heart... this is what came out tonight.

"

If an angel came down to set you free

Would you be thankful or too blind to see?

If happiness was just a mile away

Would you take the journey or walk away?

Life is full of choices and mistakes

How we bounce back defines our fate

No one person has ever been perfect

We are forgiven for being imperfect

If an angel promised eternal bliss

Would you take the offer or dismiss?

With life comes millions of choices

Learn to separate the good from bad voices

If I told you I know the truth

Would you believe me or demand proof?

If a book could provide you with pure clarity

Would you read that book with regularity?

Well the truth is you no longer have to look

For the truth is the Bible is that book

If you really want to understand the truth

Open your heart and allow God to guide you

Just have a little faith

I love it. I think of it as a Unicorn around the corner and I just have to keep walking and I can see it. I would also say choice instead of choices though for the rhythm. :) Thanks and great work

I'm not religious but I'm definitely not against having faith. This poem made me feel as though there was an angel waiting somewhere for me to look up and see it.

A true testament to one's faith.

Life is full of choices and mistakes
How we bounce back defines our fate

Two lines that speak volumes. Now, if only the rest of the world could understand this!

Good write!

It definitely is.... thank you for the review :)
The first two lines are magnificent Aaron - I just had to jot that down here in the review box before going back - lol - they remind me of the joke about the man stranded in a flood who refuses all help (boat, helicopter, even an alien spaceship) saying each time "My God will save me". Then he drowns and asks God in Heaven - why didnt you save me? God replys ,"Dude - I sent you a boat, a helicopter and a spaceship !!"

Great theological piece my friend - very tight rhyming makes this a pleasure to read for an old skool rhymer like me.
I really enjoyed this -
"If I told you I know the truth
Would you believe me or demand proof?
If a book could provide you with pure clarity
Would you read that book with regularity?' - its almost rap - well in my head, it was.

Very good my friend! :))
