For my daughter Zoe on her sixth birthday

I think of you and how amazing you are

Six years ago today you were born

My beautiful little angel, my baby girl

You made me the luckiest father in the world

 

You always seem to amaze me

In everything you ever do

You always make me smile

I admit, I am so proud of you

 

You are so much like me

In so many ways

Your temper and competitiveness

Straight from my DNA

 

Today on your sixth birthday

I was so happy to be with you

I wanted to tell the world

Just how much I love you

Aaron, So many poems posted on WC are about fantasy, dreams and pain...this is so warm and fuzzy (a GOOD thing) it brought a tear to my eye. Aaron, keep this for her, laminate it for her to keep with her when you can't be there. Kids think parents are supposed to love them, but saying you're proud of her means as much or more.

actually i cried..as my father was never told of me he knows not of my birth...i honestly used o cry when i heard and saw brides at weddings dancing with their fathers as i know that will not be me. this is so sweet... thank you for writing this!
