The struggle

I’ve been thinking of everything I used to want to be

I find myself sitting here with nothing

I guess this is right where I should be

 

I can’t fall any lower than I already am

There is only up to go from here

I am right where I should be

 

Anyone could take the easy way out

Just give up on life and become nothing

But I am right where I should be

 

I will decide where I go from here

I will succeed, I will face my fears

This is right where I should be

 

My choices will set me free

My mistakes will teach me

My failures will help me see

I will learn to love ME

Oh I've been there my friend. Once you hit that rock bottom, the only thing you really have left is yourself. Everyone else either runs away or you push them away yourself. So you then become alienated with only yourself to sort through. Being honest and coming around to love yourself is a task indeed. It is one that I still have not conquered.

Very strong message in this poem and this is a major problem in society today.People don't love themselves thats why they make risky choices.If you don't love yourself how can you love another?Very well written poem with an important message
