Let Go

Let Go

A Poem by Kia

Let Go
You say you won't
But you do
You say don't worry
But that's all I do
I'm not perfect by far
But don't pretend to be
Someone you know you aren't
One way I thought you were
And then you became another
Are you the same one
That I fell so deeply in love with
What happened?
To make you treat me like nothing
You despise me with words
Without even knowing
And my heart burns from the pain
And still I stay
What will it take
The final blow to break me
The cops to knock
No, before it gets that far
I have to just let go

This sounds to me like this piece is about physical abuse. Its a sad thing to see someone you thought you knew morph into someone you just don't recognize. I'm glad that at the end, even though its heartbreaking, that she has the strength and the curage to leave. I think its important.
Eye opening piece.
Keep up the good work.
