The Others Can See You Through The WiresA Poem by LavenderMeant for my poetry class entries, and was heavily inspired by the black hole of the internet. You have to ignore them or they’ll persist On for you. But before you can resist You need to stop provoking them Like a needy homeless man, they’ll be harsher when you’re softer. They live on that other side just out of our reach, But their contact with the wired makes them known; Waiting for your curious eyes to look just below. It’s too late to deny them, they already know about us And our unwelcome gaze. Don’t be fooled by the distance for they live on the cusp Of our existence. Why take the chance? Why let them in? You’re not safe, the monitor is glaring right back with sin I can’t stop you, but be wary They know how we think, and they know we’ll come back. © 2015 Lavender |
