No Longer

No Longer

A Poem by Jeremy Cooney
"

A weird little song, played high and sung high (as in notes, not state of mind). Inspired by Sophie Madeleine Ball

"

 Dreaming helpless fantasy worlds

Worlds I don't intend to

Visit any time again soon

Drinking on the corner, watch that blade

Rockstar dens

Buying jumpsuits over lingerie

Those in flame all wear masks

Though I can see through

If they're painted through the glass

Trickster comes, my head he bites

He wishes me to ignite

But the only sight that I can see

Is the rolling fields I should be layin'

Ahhh........

Pillows make a comfy alternate

To a bed-mate

When I'm feeling sad or rather down

Otherwise I stretch my legs

I moan and groan, scream and shake

Never had to take my self too seriously

Existential lit while I drink my wine

Save the universe, I'm feeling fine

But then a rhyme comes over the boom

And sometimes slips my thoughts to you

Ahhhhh.....

So tell your secret lies to someone else

I don't need them

Run away from some other jester now

Content am I, as you see

Maybe not good, but I am free

And at least I ain't waiting on you

Now for me there's no boucan

The sun itself will rise again

In the morning

Ahhhh....

In the morning
